Welcome! The Chemeketa Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) was established in November, 1915. Our chapter is located in Salem, Oregon, where we serve Salem and the surrounding areas. “Chemeketa” refers to “Home or Council Grounds” in the Kalapuyan language. We are a service organization made up of women, aged 18 years and older with emphasis on “God, Home and Country.”

We are involved in many projects throughout the community. These include, but not limited to, assisting and supporting veteran projects, adopting and supporting classrooms, and literacy projects. We hold genealogy classes in the community and volunteer at our Oregon State Society Daughters of the American Revolution (OSSDAR) museums and the Chemawa Indian School. We also are involved in historic preservation projects. There is definitely something for everyone.

We welcome new members with new ideas and suggestions for ways we can continue to grow together in the community. We would be honored to have you become a member of the Chemeketa Chapter, NSDAR. More information may be found on the  National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) website or our Oregon State Society DAR (OSSDAR) website. Thank you so much for visiting our website!
